Abstract

This article provides the design of fault tolerant control law (FTC), for induction motor (IM) drives, using rotor field-oriented control (FOC) with diagnosis speed sensor fault. The main idea consists of using the information provided by the Fault Detection (FD) block to detect speed sensor error signals in a closed-loop system. A passive fault-tolerant control associated with a robust sensor speed fault detection filter based on H?/µ-synthesis technique, are presented to ensure induction motor control performances in presence of uncertainties, multiplicative and additive faults. Simulations results of the FD and FTC schemes of IM are presented to verify the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
