Design of Adaptive Preview Control

Abstract


This paper presents the formulation of Adaptive Preview Control (APC) for discrete-time systems. The Adaptive Preview Control scheme includes a combination of Adaptive Control and Preview Control and thus, gains the advantage of both the schemes. This scheme enhances the transient behaviour by adapting to the real-time previewed signals of the system. The Adaptive Gain update Law is designed using Lyapunov Function and thus, the asymptotic stability of the closed-loop system is guaranteed. The proposed APC design is tested for two benchmark control problems using MATLAB platform. The results validate that the performance of the system enhances by the use of Adaptive Preview Control structure in terms of transient characteristics.
