Abstract


This paper presents the main aspects related to personal assistance at home from the point of view of two ongoing projects: Sweet-Home and AmiHomeCare and the possibility of combining different parts of them in order to obtain a more versatile system. Each project has a different way of gathering the information needed to function: Sweet-Home uses sound processing, AmiHomeCare – video processing. Each technique brings some advantages, presented in the paper. A short description of each project’s structure and functioning is presented, along with collaboration possibilities.
